The Body Shop Body Butter ‘Cocoa Butter’ Review: The PERFECT Body Butter for Dry Skin!
Hiya Sweetums!
With winters knocking on our doorstep its the perfect time to review my body butters. TBS is one brand that I have come to love when it comes to their body butters and so much so that I ended up buying 6 last month. So umm I guess I’m set for atleast 6 winters :p Today I’m going to review TBS Cocoa Body Butter which is a must have dry skinned beauties.
Product Description
This super-rich and creamy Body Butter is a feast for the skin. It melts straight in to leave skin feeling soft and smooth. It contains Community Fair Trade cocoa butter and has a sweet cocoa scent.
- 24-hour hydration
- Great for very dry skin
- Sweet cocoa scent
Price: ₹ 995 for 200ml
Packaging
TBS Cocoa Butter Body Butter comes in a round tub packaging with a screw on cap. You need to dip in your fingers to get the product making it a bit unhygienic but that makes sure you end up using the whole product and that there is no wastage. Plus,a squeezy tube would not have been appropriate for such a thick cream. It has the list of ingredients, date of manufacturing & expiry and other necessary details mentioned below the tub.
Texture & Scent
Cocoa Butter has a thick emollient texture which instantly hydrates and nourishes my skin. Its feels like cream(the edible kind :p) and has a warm nutty smell which makes you feel all cozy and gooey atleast to me :p You only need a very small amount and it glides on effortlessly. It absorbs easily into the skin with just a bit of massage. I have normal skin and it does not make my skin oily nor does it feel heavy.
Efficacy & Staying Power
TBS recommends this for very dry- dry skin and I do believe its perfect if your skin can give The Sahara Desert a run for its sand money. My mom who has very very dry skin absolutely swears by it. So I believe its perfect for dry skin as well as normal skin since it didn’t make my skin oily. People with oily skin should avoid it as it might be a bit too heavy for them It keeps my skin nourished, soft and supple throughout the day. I do not need to reapply it even at night. My hands and feet get extremely dry in winters and yet it hydrates them really well.
Worth the high price tag?
TBS Body Butters do cost quite a bit and till now I wasn’t tempted to spend so much on it. I’d rather spend 1k on makeup than skincare :p But after I bought 1 there was no looking back. These are totally worth every buck spent and you get a huge quantity which will definitely last you the whole season if not the whole year. TBS is right now offering 25%off on these so its the best time to purchase this!
Pros
1) A creamy, hydrating and emollient body butter
2) Suitable for very dry to normal skin
3) Adequately nourishes and hydrates the skin
4) Keeps the skin soft and supple throughout the day even in the harsh winters
5) Does not leave behind an oily or greasy residue
6) All natural and best ingredients outsourced for the body butter
7) Contains a huge quantity that will last forever
Cons
1) Might not be suitable for oily skin
2) Too rich to be used in summers
HBM Recommendation: The Body Shop Cocoa Butter Body Butter is HG material for those with dry to very dry skin. It works just as fine on my normal skin and keeps it hydrated and soft FOREVER. You should certainly check this out if you’re looking for a heavy duty moisturizer which is rich but does not make the skin greasy!
