Avene Very High Protection SPF 50+ Emulsion & Cream Review
Avene Very High Protection SPF 50+ Emulsion & Cream Review, Price & Buy Online India
Hi Girls,
We all know no matter what the season, we must never leave the home without applying sunscreen. This summers I have been following that rule religiously thanks to Avene. They sent me across their full Very High protection Range and to test out the products I tend to go out with a sunscreen more often than not. I have almost finished the Avene Spray Sunscreen( God! I love that one) and recently started using the VHP Emulsion & Cream which I am going to review today.

Avene Very High Protection SPF50+ Emulsion Review & Price India
The Avene VHP Emlusion SPF50+ comes in a peppy orange squeezy tube with a pump dispenser. The packaging will easily fit in your handbag and the pump dispenser makesthe application a breeze! The cap shuts tightly and will not come off in your bag. For ample protection I usually use 2 pumps for my face and neck as I tend to slather on my sunscreens otherwise 1 pump is adequate for the same.
Avene Very High Protection SPF50+ Sunscreen is white in color and is of a runny consistency. It does not spread that easily onto the skin and requires a bit of effort. Once blended it does not leave any white cast and instead adds a glow to my face. Though dusky beauties might notice an initial white cast which later settles down.
I have a combination skin type (T Zone oily) and this most definitely keeps my face matte. It does not exactly feel lightweight ie I get that feeling of having something on my face but it certainly keeps the oil at bay. However, those with oily skin might need to use a compact/loose powder to keep their face shine free and dry skinned beauties might need a moisturizer underneath. For dry skinned beauties I feel the Avene VHP Cream is best suited to your needs!
Avene Very High Protection SPF 50+ Cream Review & Price India
Like the emulsion, the Avene VHP Cream SPF 50+ too comes in an orange squeezy tube with a pump dispenser. They both look exactly the same and at times it gets a bit tough for me to tell them apart especially when I am in a hurry 😀 I have been using this alot this week as the weather is much cooler and my skin is starting to get a bit dry and not so oily!
It is white in color and has a medium consistency. The texture is not exactly of a cream but much thicker than the emulsion. It has a light powder-y scent which all the products in the Avene Very High Protection Range contain. The scent dissipates after application hence it will not bother you.
I felt that the Avene Very High Protection Cream is more moisturizing compared to the emulsion and spreads much more easily onto the skin. Its a bit heavy for my combination skin and I usually apply it when my skin needs an extra bit of moisture. It does leave a slight white cast which a little dab of compact takes care of but definitely a con for deeper complexions!
I haven’t noticed any tanning when I’ve used Avene VHP Sunsreens though I do not stay outdoors longer than 4-5 hours. I never re-touch my sunscreen because I find it a bit inconvenient but for complete protection I strongly recommend applying it every 2-3 hours even if you’re using a broad spectrum sunscreen. The price is high especially for the quantity provided but I’m sure for those with acne prone and sensitive skin would find the investment well worth it!
HBM Rating
HBM Recommendation: Avene Very High protection SPF50+ Emulsion & Cream are great quality sunscreens suitable for those with sensitive skin and acne prone skin. It provides adequate protection against the sun and comes in a convenient pump dispenser packaging. The VHP Emulsion is best suited for normal to oily skin and I recommend the VHP Cream for dry to normal skintype!
