On any given day there is a lip gloss to give us girls the much needed confidence and add oomph to our pout. If I had to choose between lipsticks and lip glosses, the latter would win hands down. They are not only easy to apply but I love the glossy finish and the way it makes your pout look fuller and oh so smexy. When it comes to lip glosses one of my favorite brands is Colorbar. They have such a wide variety of colors and ranges and they recently launched their Sheer Glass Lip Glosses and I got the shade Brown Sheen which I shall be reviewing today.

Packaging
Colorbar Sheer Lip Gloss comes in a round lipgloss tube with a silver cap. Like all Colorbar products, these too are packaged in their pretty silver cartons which mentions all the necessary details like the ingredients, date of expiry, shade name etc. The lipglosses have a unique applicator, a flat sponge applicator instead of a doe foot one which helps in applying the product evenly though you might need to dip it a couple of times to get the required amount.

Colorbar 08 Brown Sheen Sheer Lipgloss Review & Buy Online India
Shade
I tried Colorbar Brown Sheen which is a coral-brown color that looks quite muddy in the swatch but much, much better on the lips. I am not too fond of the shade and I don’t find it that flattering for my skintone. I think this is too warm for fair skintone, maybe a wee bit pale for the dusky beauties but could be a great everyday wear shade for medium skintone.

Texture
The beauty of the Colorbar Sheer Lipglosses lies in their consistency. With a light and comfortable texture which is super hydrating, these glosses are everything a girl with dry lips needs. Despite being hydrating, they do not feel sticky or heavy on the lips. It applies evenly and does not settle into fine lines.

Pigmentation
Colorbar Sheer Lipgloss Brown Sheen is very well pigmented for something touted as a sheer lipgloss. It provides medium coverage which should cover minor lip pigmentation well and even it out. Since I find it a bit too brown, I like it sheer and do not build up the pigmentation. I have swatched other shades from the range and all of them provide good coverage.

Staying Power
The Colorbar Sheer Lipgloss Brown Sheen does not stain . It stays put for about 3 hours, a little less if I eat snacks or light meals. The staying power could’ve been better but then it is a lipgloss and not a liquid lipstick which can be expected to stay put for hours on an end.

At a price tag of Rs 675, these are expensive, a complaint I’ve had with the new Colorbar products for awhile. However, the quality is really good but I just didn’t like this particular shade for my skintone.

1) Lightweight and non sticky texture
2) Very hydrating for dry lips
3) Well pigmented for a sheer lip gloss
4) Decent staying power
5) Comes in 8 gorgeous shades
6) I love the flat sponge applicator
Cons of Colorbar Sheer Glass Lip Gloss
1) This particular color, Brown Sheen isn’t so flattering
2) Some might find it a bit expensive

HBM Recommendation: Colorbar Sheer Glass Lipglosses are well pigmented, hydrating and have a non sticky texture. They add a shine and oomph to your pout like no one’s business. While I do love the quality but I wasn’t so fond of the shade. Recommended if you are eying some other shade from this range
