Hair Colouring Myths: Busted!
Hair Colouring Myths: Busted!
Hi Girls,
If you read my previous post then you would know I recently colored my hair and boy did I feel great about it! I had been planning about coloring my hair for a really long time but all those stories about hair damage and hair fall had kept me at bay. Many of the women I know tend to avoid coloring their hair due to such factors and after finally giving hair color a try myself, I felt it was the perfect time bust some myths related to hair coloring.
I used the L’Oreal Paris Casting Crème Gloss in Iced Chocolate for coloring my hair and now I know why it is considered as one of the best hair colors in India. For more details and a tutorial on coloring your hair do check out this post.
Hair Coloring Damages Hair: This is probably the biggest concern that most women have regarding hair color. I personally recommend L’Oreal Paris Casting Crème Gloss as I’ve had a great experience with it and it did not damage my hair or lead to breakage. A good quality hair colour not only protects hair fiber but also makes it soft and glossy.
Colouring your hair make it dry and lifeless: This was the issue that bothered me the most about coloring my hair as I already had extremely dry and frizzy hair and didn’t want to damage it further. After coloring my hair I can easily refute this claim as I did not experience any further dryness and instead my hair felt bouncier, softer and glossier especially after using the L’Oreal Paris Nutrishnine Royal Jelly Conditioner ( I SO love it). If you take proper care and adequately condition your hair after colouring then you will not face this issue.
Hair Coloring is time consuming: Oh this is definitely the biggest misconception regarding hair color. Coloring your hair at home takes less than 20 minutes and is completely fuss free. With the L’Oreal Paris Casting Crème Gloss you don’t even need to bother with brushes or bowls as it can be applied directly from the bottle. The best part was that it did not drip hence my clothes weren’t ruined and I was done with the process in 20 minutes flat! Easy, Peasy & Breeeeezy!
Hair Coloring leads to hairfall: Like I mentioned before many hair colors contained ammonia which led to hairfall but by choosing an ammonia free hair color you can combat this issue. I personally do not face any major hairfall barring the few odd strands after every wash and neither has it increased after coloring my hair.
These were some of the concerns associated with hair coloring that are probably the biggest myths we tend to believe. Choose the brand wisely and you will adore your colored and stylish mane like I am 🙂
