Liquid lipsticks are all the rage these days. Every brand worth a buck has one in their range, be it high end or drugstore and recently MAC joined the bandwagon with their new Retro Matte Liquid Lipcolours. This is a permanent line which has 15 hard to resist shades. I currently have 2 shades- Pink Statement & High Drama and I just want them all. Packaging
The MAC Retro Matte Liquid Lipcolor is packaged like a lipgloss, but the top is similar to their lipstick bullets. The packaging is see through hence its very to identify a particular shade even if you’re in a hurry. The MAC Liquid Lipcolour comes boxed like their lipsticks and mentions all the necessary details. It comes with a doe foot applicator which is of great quality and I find it very easy to line my lips with the pointed edge.

Texture
MAC Retro Matte Liquid Lipcolour has a very lightweight and mousse like formula. It applies well but can be tricky to work with if you have dry lips which is the case with most matte liquid lipsticks. Personal Statement can be uneven and accentuates lip lines unless the lips are properly prepped and primed. I personally prefer applying it on top of a lip balm. I do not find it as comfortable as the NYX Soft Matte Lipcreams but those aren’t as intensely matte as the MAC ones.

Shade
MAC Personal Statement is described as a shocking pink and that is pretty accurate. It is a blue based vivid pink and though such shades usually do not flatter our warm Indian skintone but it surprisingly looks great on me. This will mostly suit fair to medium skintone and is a color best bought after trying it out at the store. However, its one of the best bright pink lipsticks I’ve come across.
