Oriflame The ONE IlluSkin Powder Review & Swatches- Light, Medium, Dark
Oriflame The ONE Illuskin Powder Review, Swatches, Price & Buy Online- Light, Medium, Dark
Hello Lovelies,
Oriflame India launched The One Compact Powder in the November Catalogue along with their cream eyeshadows recently. I’ve already reviewed quite a number of products from THE ONE range and you can check them here. I personally loved Oriflame The One Eyeliner Stylos so lets see if this essential product which most of use on a daily basis fared well with me or not.
Price: Rs 649
Quantity: 8gms
Packaging
Oriflame The One Illuskin Compact comes in a purple plastic casing which is packaged in a similar cardboard box. It comes with a soft sponge applicator and a decent sized mirror for touch ups. I really believe they could’ve made the packaging of this range fancier and girly as I find it a bit too boring. However, the sponge is of great quality and applies the product well.
Texture & Coverage
The Oriflame One Powder is finely milled in texture and is silky smooth. It does not feel too powdery or settle down into pores. I love how soft it feels and coverage wise its quite decent. The One Compact gives sheer to buildable coverage when used on its own. These days I usually skip using any sort of CC cream or foundation and just apply some liner, mascara and a pressed powder. It certainly does not hide flaws but evens out the skintone a bit.
Staying Power & Efficacy
Like most compacts, the Oriflame One Illuskin Powder stays put for about 4-5 hours on me after which I start noticing some shine on my T- Zone. With the winters in full swing my skin is behaving quite well but when I tried this out in the humid Mumbai weather I definitely required a touch up after a few hours which has been the case with most of the compacts I’ve used till date.
Shade
Overall, these Oriflame The One Illuskin Powder Compacts fared pretty well when it came to coverage and staying power but they definitely disappoint in the shade selection. Like the Oriflame The One Foundations these too are pretty pale for the Indian skintone. Light is almost white and will only suit super pale girls while medium would again suit very fair women. Dark on the other hand seems to be a good option for us and should suit fair to wheatish girls well. As for me, light was too pale, medium a bit ashy but workable and dark was well too dark!
As for the price, I find these pressed powders a bit steep but the thing with Oriflame products is that you need to wait for offers and you’ll certainly get a great deal at it. Currently, its available at 25%off so if you’re interested in this range then place your orders right away girls!
Pros
1) Finely milled and soft in texture
2) Does feel too powdery or gritty
3) Sheer to buildable coverage which is decent for a compact
4) Decent staying power
5) Keeps the face matte for about 5 hours
Cons
1) The shade selection is bad for Indian skintone
2) Price is on the higher side
HBM Rating
HBM Recommendation: Oriflame The ONE Illuskin Powder is finely milled and feels quite soft. It has sheer to buildable coverage which I believe is decent for a compact. With a wear time of about 5 hours I feel that its good everyday compact but the shade range is disappointing!
