Packaging
The interesting thing about the Revlon Shadowlinks is that they have a slide of sorts on the side which can be used to “link” your favorite eyeshadows together to make a customized palette. Least to say its one of the most interesting concepts I’ve come across as I hate buying palettes for only a few shades that I liked.
This way you can also click together the shades you want to travel with instead of carrying all sorts of palette while on the road. Revlon hit the bull’s eye in the packaging department for sure.
Shade
Revlon Shadowlink Onyx is a black eyeshadow with silver shimmer. Its one of the prettiest blacks I’ve come across and Onyx highly reminds me of MAC Black Tied.

Revlon Colorstay ShadowLinks Plum Review
I think this is the perfect shade for beginners if they want to try their hands at an intense smokey eyemakeup . All you need to do is apply Revlon Onyx all over your lids and just lightly blend the shadow in your crease. It requires minimal blending and looks as glamorous as any other eyemakeup!
Texture
Revlon Onyx has a smooth texture which isn’t soft but neither is it too dry. It applies well on the lids and certainly blends better compared to Revlon ShadowLink Plum. Being a dark eyeshadow with shimmer, I do face a fair amount of fallout so its best to do your base makeup after your eyemakeup.
Pigmentation
I was quite impressed with the pigmentation of Onyx and it shows up really well in 2 swipes! With an eyeshadow base the color pay off is really intense so no complaints on the pigmentation front! It is probably the most pigmented color in the whole range.
Staying Power
Revlon Onyx has a decent wear time of about 3-4 hours after which it starts creasing. With a primer underneath it lasts a couple more hours before it starts creasing. It could’ve been better in this aspect but for the price you really can’t complain.
Pros
1) A stunning black eyeshadow with silver shimmer which resembles MAC Black Tied Eyeshadow
2) Smooth texture which blends easily
3) Great Pigmentation
4) Stays put for a decent amount of time
5)This is the only shade you need to create intense smokey eyemakeup
6) Easy on the pocket making it perfect for budget beauties and beginners
7) An amazing and unique concept of building your own palette which is very travel friendly.
Cons
1) The staying power could’ve been better
HBM Rating
HBM Recommendation: Revlon Colorstay ShadowLink Onyx is a gorgeous black eyeshadow with silver shimmer. It is intensely pigmented and easily shows up on the lids. The staying power is decent and the price is certainly quite an attraction. I had a great experience with this particular shade and certainly recommend it for smokey eyemakeup lovers!
