Maybelline V Face Range- Duo Stick & Blush Contour Review, Swatches, Price, Buy Online India
While the trends might forecast contouring as well and truly dead but let’s be honest, contouring does so much more for us than strobing ever will. Personally, I contour my face every time I’m doing a full base makeup and eyes routine. It’s an instant rhinoplasty and cheek lipo for my round as a potato face. Contouring has been my best friend for years and I’ve always been disappointed by the lack of contouring and highlighting products in India. However, Maybelline recently launched the V Face Range which seems to be the answer to all our prayers. Read on for the detailed review and swatches.
The Maybelline V Face Contouring Range consists of 3 products
- V Face Duo Stick
- V Face Duo Powder
- V Face Blush Contour

Packaging
Starting off with my favorite product from the range, The Maybelline V Face Duo Stick is packaged in a dual ended retractable packaging. One end contains the contouring bullet while the other end has the highlighting bullet. Both the caps shut tightly and will not come off in your bag. The packaging is sleek and practical plus the 2 in 1 feature makes it very travel friendly.
Shade
The new Maybelline V Face Contouring Duo Stick is available in 2 shades: fair to medium & medium to dark. I have the medium to dark variant which is perfect for fair to medium skintones. It consists of a beautiful pearl-champagne highlighter and a mid toned brown shade for contouring. I do find the contouring shade a bit too warm for my liking and I would’ve loved an addition of something more cool toned or taupe which mimics the natural contours of the face much better. I have the darkest shade and it will definitely not show up well on dusky complexion or someone above NC 40 in MAC foundation. This would’ve been a perfect range had they launched a better shade variety. However, the highlight shade is universally flattering and will look beautiful on all skintones.
Texture
This affordable contour duo in India has a smooth and creamy formula. It applies easily on the skin and settles into a semi matte finish making it suitable for combination to oily skin type as well. The contouring end is slightly creamier than the highlighter making it easier to blend. I’ve tried to blend it with both a damp RT sponge and my fingers. The product works the best when I blend it with my fingers as I can control the pigmentation while the complexion sponge sheers it out much more.
Pigmentation & Staying Power
This is one the best affordable contouring products in India especially for beginners as it has a buildable color pay off. This prevents a newbie from going overboard and also gives a very natural finish unlike the Kim K contouring that is quite popular. You can build up the pigmentation for a more well defined look but I think a couple of swipes are perfect for most. I get a wear time of about 4-5 hours which is further increased if set with a contour powder on top.
HBM Rating
HBM Recommendation: Overall, I am very pleased with the new Maybelline Contour Duo Stick. It is super easy to use, blends well and gives a natural finish which can be built up according to one’s preference. Very suitable for beginners, I highly recommend it. I just wish they had launched some darker shades to cater to the dusky complexions.

Maybelline V Face Blush Contour Duo is available in 3 shades: Pink, Peach & Brown
Packaging
The new Maybelline Blush Contour comes packaged in a black casing with a plastic lid. The packaging looks very attractive and comes with a sleek brush for application. I rarely use the applicators that come with the products but they do work well for touch ups. The blush contour by Facestudio has 3 stripes consisting of an highlighter, blush and a contouring shade. The stripes are too tiny and the placement makes it tougher to get a particular shade on your brush. You’ll need a mini contouring and highlighting brush to use it unless you swirl them all together.
Texture & Shade
The Maybelline V-Face Blush Contour has a very finely milled and smooth texture. It applies easily and blends well on the face. The powder does not emphasize the pores or look chalky. I have it in the shade pink which contains a cool toned highlighter, mid toned pink blush and a light contouring shade. I initially felt it won’t flatter my warm skin tone but it surprisingly looks good. However, the contour color is a bit light and sheer.
Pigmentation & Staying Power
The Maybelline Blush Contour is decently pigmented like their Cheeky Glow Blushes. It shows up easily on my fair-medium skintone though dusky beauties might need to build up the pigmentation. The contouring powder however does not add much definition. When swirled together, it provide a nice warm pink flush to the cheeks. I get a wear time of about 3-4 hours which is not bad.
HBM Rating
HBM Recommendation: The new Maybelline V Face Blush Contour is a decent cheek kit for beginners. The texture is silky smooth and provides a good wear time. While the pigmentation is buildable, the lower rating is due to the difficulty in using an individual shade. Had the pans been bigger, I would’ve liked it much more.
The Maybelline V Face range by Facestudio also consists of a Duo Powder that looks quite promising. It has a a contouring powder with a very natural finish satin powder for highlighting. I will probably pick that up as well if the swatch looks dark enough for my skin tone. Besides the contouring range, Maybelline India has also launched the Lash Sensational Mascara & Party Girl Nail Polishes which I will be reviewing soon.
