The Body Shop Vitamin E Body Butter Review & Swatch
The Body Shop Vitamin E Body Butter Review
Uh don’t know why I went all Spanish on you girls(considering that IS Español) Today I have TBS Vit E Body Butter in the spotlight for you. I have recently noticed a few stretch marks(blame the weight gain grr) on my calves and I was looking for something which would help me get rid of them! The SA at the TBS Store talked me into trying the Vitamin E body butter which is supposedly proven to show great results! So read on to know how well this fared with me.
Price: ₹ 995
Quantity: 200ml
Ingredients
Packaging
The TBS Vit E Body Butter comes in a light pink round tub packaging with a screw on cap. The tub is bulky and big making it a bit inconvenient for travelling. You need to dip in your fingers to get the product thus it a bit unhygienic but that makes sure you end up using the whole product and that there is no wastage. It has the list of ingredients, date of manufacturing & expiry and other necessary details mentioned below the tub.
Texture & Scent
Vitamin E body butter is light pink in color and is thick and buttery in texture. It is definitely more rich than TBS Strawberry Body Butter and more dense compared to TBS Cocoa Butter Body Butter. It does not absorb into the skin as quickly as the above 2 either and feels a bit oily on my normal skin. I feel it will be more suitable for people with dry to very dry skin.
TBS claims this is infused with a tea-rose scent(its actually a rose with a pale yellow and pink tinge :p ) and I have no idea how that smells like :p To me this smells very much like that Charmis cream I remember my mum used to use when I was a kid! Not exactly my favorite scent but it does not linger on much.
Efficacy & Staying Power
I can’t really comment on how much it has reduced my stretch marks since I haven’t been using this at all due to the greasiness it leaves behind. However, it does keep my skin hydrated throughout the day and I don’t require a re-application.
Worth the high price tag?
TBS Body Butters do cost quite a bit but it is so worth the investment. You get a huge quantity which will definitely last you the whole season if not the whole year. I believe this will be perfect for dry skinned beauties to invest in. TBS usually offers good discounts on their body butters so do look out for them.
Pros
1) Very creamy and hydrating making it perfect for dry skin
2) Keeps the skin moisturized and soft all day long
3) Does not require re-application
4) More suitable for very dry to dry skin
5) Claims to reduce stretch marks
Cons
1) Too rich for normal skin
2) I’m not at all fond of the scent
3) Its quite expensive
HBM Rating
HBM Recommendation: TBS Vitamin E Body Butter is thick and very rich in texture which can be greasy for normal to oily skin. I’m also not fond of the scent so I’ll suggest you skip it unless you need intense hydration which lasts the whole day!
