Packaging
The Dr. Batra’s face wash comes in a simple, transparent, squeezable plastic tube with a flip open cap.The entire product details are mentioned on the rear side including the list of ingredients. I find the packaging convenient and fuss-free. I only wish they come up with travel-sized versions which can be easily carried in an office handbag as most of the brands nowadays have that.
Texture and Fragrance
The Dr. Batra’s Moisturizing Face Wash is green in color and has a gel-like texture. The gel has a thicker consistency compared to the other two variants which were runny. There are tiny dark green beads which dissolve on rubbing. The fragrance is a bit strong and very artificial and I’m not too fond of it.
Efficacy
It has started getting colder Bangalore in now and my combination skin is becoming dry. So this moisturizing face wash proved to be useful for me. Since the consistency is thicker, only small quantity is required and the tube lasts longer than the other two. I am not too happy with its cleansing though. Unlike the Acne Clear/Instant Glow variant, it doesn’t cleanse the face well. When I apply my toner post-wash, I can see some dirt on the cotton. It is good for use when you are mostly indoors or while washing the face in the morning.
But, if you are reaching home after travelling a lot in the dust and pollution, it is not effective, as it doesn’t deep cleanse. Regarding its moisturizing effect, yes, the face wash is more hydrating than the other variants and makes my skin soft and bouncy with regular use. However, I feel cream based face washes work better for the dry skin.
Finally, I would like to say I am glad I came across the Dr.Batra’s face washes. They are all formulated with natural ingredients and free of sulphates and silicones. They are especially suitable for people like me with sensitive skin who need gentle & mild cleansers. Here is a short summary to help you decide which one to pick among the three variants:
Dr.Batra’s Acne Clear Face Wash: My favorite one among the three. Enriched with neem and tulsi. Helps to subdue pimples quickly. Suitable for oily/combination acne prone skin, but I believe all skin types can use it, as unlike salicylic acid based acne washes, this doesn’t dry out skin.
Dr.Batra’s Instant Glow Face Wash: Enriched with turmeric. Gives a healthy glow to skin on regular use. Keeps face clean and oil-free for hours. Suitable for normal skin.
Pros of Dr. Batra’s Moisturizing Face Wash
1) Very good for dry, mature skin as it hydrates adequately without drying out skin post-wash.
2) Makes skin soft and bouncy.
3) Free of harmful chemicals like sulphates, silicones and soap.
4) Gentle, mild and suitable even for sensitive skin.
5) Enriched with the goodness of aloevera.
Cons of Dr. Batra’s Moisturizing Face Wash
1) Doesn’t cleanse the face effectively.
2) Artificial, perfume-like fragrance.
HBM Rating
HBM Recommendation: This is a good face wash for people with dry skin and those with normal skin and use it in winters as well. Its very gentle and enriched with aloevera to soothe and calm skin problems and sun-burns. The face wash doesn’t deep cleanse, so I use it mostly in the mornings or when I am mostly indoors. Oily/acne prone skin people can skip this.
