Its been forever since I last reviewed an eyeshadow quad and being an eyemakeup lover, I’m so disappointed in myself. However, when Faces cosmetics launched their new Glam On Perfect Eyeshadow range, I got the perfect opportunity to share my love for eye shadows once again. I have it in the shade Smokey which is a great neutral quad so read on to know how well this fared with me.

Packaging
Faces Glam On Eyeshadow Quad comes in a black compact casing which not only looks classy but is also sturdy. It has a decent sized mirror along with a double ended applicator with one side having the sponge and the other a small brush. The applicator is pretty useless but I quite like the packaging and it is very travel friendly.

Shade
The Faces Perfect Eyeshadow Quad in Smokey contains a white-silver highlighter, a taupe, a chocolatey shimmery brown and a deep plum eyeshadow. All the shades are shimmery/metallic. Not too fond of the pale silver shade as these aren’t flattering on the Indian skintone and I would’ve preferred something more warmer. However, the rest of the shades are perfect for creating a neutral smokey eyemakeup and with the shimmer finish, I am sure it will be quite popular this festive season.

Texture & Pigmentation.
Faces Glam On Perfect Eyeshadow Quad has a smooth texture but I do find it a bit chalky especially the taupe and plum shade. They swatch well but somehow don’t apply as smoothly as I would’ve liked them to. Most of the shades aren’t that well pigmented and you really need to build up the color for it to show up intensely on the eyes, even the darker shades. Using a primer does help with the color pay off so I suggest you use a good eyeshadow base to make the colors more vibrant.

Staying Power
The Faces eyeshadows stay put for a solid 5 hours after which they start creasing on me. I do not have oily lids however since I have double eyelids most eyeshadows tend to crease quite easily on me. The staying power is really good and using a primer increases its longevity. At Rs 599, its a decent deal however, I would preferred a better formula and more intensity.

HBM Recommendation: Faces Glam On Perfect Eyeshadow in Smokey is a nice neutral palette which helps you create subtle to intense looks. However, it is pretty average in terms of the pigmentation but does stay put a good amount of time. If you do not mind spending some extra time building up the pigmentation then you can give this a go!
