Eau Thermale Avene is one of my favorite favorite skincare brands and their products and in my experience (actually my sister’s) their products work very for sensitive and acne prone skin. I recently tried out their Avene Cleanance Gel Cleanser which is an SLES free cleanser suitable for oily-sensitive skin and I shall be reviewing it today. Read on to know my experience with it

Product Description
Avene Cleanance Gel is a deep-penetrating, soap-free cleanser which eliminates impurities and excess sebum without stripping the skin. It is a patented triple action sulphate free formula including the patented active ingredient Glyceryl Laurate.

• The sebum and oil production are inhibited and the bacteria responsible for blemishes is diminished, resulting in healthy, blemish-free skin.

Packaging
The Avene Cleanance Face Wash comes in sturdy plastic bottle which is transparent hence you can tell when you’re about to run out of the product. It has a unique twist open cap which is small and you can easily control the quantity of the product required. The bottle is sturdy and travel friendly. The list of ingredients and other details are mentioned on the back of the bottle.

Texture
The Avene Cleanance Soapless Cleanser is fresh blue in color and is of a runny consistency. All you need is a pea sized amount to adequately clean your face. Mostly SLES free cleansers do not foam at all but this one lathers quite well and adequately removes dirt and grime.

Efficacy
I have noticed it is also good at removing makeup though you might need to use a makeup remover for waterproof makeup. It makes my skin feel refreshed and squeaky clean. I have combination to oily skin and it does make my skin a wee bit dry so those with super oily skin are bound to love it for its effective removal of excess sebum.

Since it was making my skin a bit stretchy I gave this to my sister who suffers from acne and has very oily skin. No matter what she uses, she ends up breaking out and sticks to only natural cleansers. This however, not only eliminated excess sebum but did not break her out either so highly recommended for those with sensitive skin.

It does seem a bit pricey, but since you only need a small quantity, one bottle will last you a very long time!

Cons of Avene Cleanance Gel Soapless Face Wash

1) Will be a bit drying for normal to combination skin type but then it is specifically aimed at oily skin.
2) Contains fragrance which isn’t something I expect in a product meant for sensitive skin
