Packaging
The Bobbi Brown Art Sticks won me over on the first sight itself because of the packaging. It is a *chubby* and black wooden pencil which is sadly not retractable hence has to be sharpened but thankfully it comes with its own sharpener.
I have the hardest time finding decent sharpeners for my chubby eye/lip crayons so I’m glad that Bobbi Brown packaged them with their own sharpeners! I absolutely adore products which are chubby and in black(oozes classiness) so least to say I was impressed with its looks (though sharpening it, is bound to hurt your heart) 😀
Shade
Bobbi Brown Art Stick in Cherrywood is a warm brownish- red which is a perfect lip color to wear in winters/fall. It shall flatter pretty much all complexions especially the warm Indian skintone! To be honest Cherrywood, was my least favorite shade in the range and certainly not the one I would’ve chosen for myself but it doesn’t look half as bad I expected it to and I’m sure its a shade I’ll reach out to more often in winters!
Texture
The Bobbi Brown Lip Crayons have a creamy and buttery texture and apply effortlessly without any tugging. Like claimed, these do settle into a semi matte finish which even my dry lips find very comfortable to wear. It does tend to settle into fine lines if you have extremely dry and chapped lips (like I do these days) so exfoliating your lips before application might be a good idea!
Pigmentation
Cherrywood disappointed me a little bit in the pigmentation department. Its more on the sheer side and needs to be swiped 2-3 times to get a decent color pay off. It doesn’t really help much in hiding pigmentation of lips which was quite a bummer. It is the least pigmented shade in the range so I do suggest you check out the other gorgeous colors which give better and almost full coverage.
Staying Power
The Bobbi Brown Art Sticks have a decent wear time of about 4 hours (probably more with the better pigmented shades) It survives small snacks and drinks and fades evenly. I would’ve liked it to last longer in this department but for a sheer shade I guess that would be expecting too much.
Pros
1) Soft, creamy and moisturizing texture
2) A warm rose-brown which will flatter all complexions
3) Perfect lip color for the fall
4) The Bobbi Brown Art Stick is a 3 in1 product which can be used a lip liner, lipstick and blush
5) Decent staying power
6) Comes in a beautiful variety of 8 shades
Cons
1) Needs to be sharpened leading to wastage 🙁
2) Pricey considering that this particular shade is sheer
HBM Rating
HBM Recommendation: Bobbi Brown Art Sticks are chubby crayons which can be used as a lip liner, lipstick and a blush! They are quite creamy and settle down into a semi matte finish hence making it quite comfortable to wear even for dry lips. I wouldn’t recommend the shade Cherrywood but would most definitely urge you to check out the other fun shades in the range like Electric Pink & Sunset Orange which are much more pigmented and last longer!
