TBS recently introduced their new Tea Tree BB Cream in India to fight off skin problems with a makeup+skincare product, all in one. I am a huge fan of BB creams especially for daily wear and only wear foundations when I know I will be photographed so it’s quite surprising that this is my first BB cream review on the blog. Packaging
The Body Shop BB Tea Tree Cream comes in an opaque green squeezy tube with a flip open cap. The complete ingredient list is mentioned on the tube along with the price, date of expiry etc. I find the packaging quite convenient, fuss free and travel friendly.

Shade
I was matched to the shade 02 in The Body Shop Tea Tree BB Cream Range which turns out too orange on me once it oxidizes. Shade 01 was too light and this one makes me look quite dull. I usually mix it with a bit of moisturizer or Lakme CC Cream when I wear it but for the FOTD I have only used the TBS BB Cream on my face and nothing else. Well that and a blush ofcourse 😉

I wish they had come out with more shades in this range to suit our complexions better. Shade 02 would suit medium/wheatish complexion but I would recommend trying it out at the store before buying it as the BB cream trends to oxidize.

Texture & Finish
The TBS Tea Tree BB Cream has a lightweight texture but it feels a bit too heavy for my combination skin which tends to sweat alot. Unless I powder my face, it makes my face too oily hence I’m not that fond of it in this humid weather. I doubt if this would perform well on oily skin but will work extremely well on dry to normal skin type due to its moisturizing properties.

Coverage & Staying Power
The Body Shop Tea Tree BB Cream has a sheer to medium coverage. I do not have any acne marks or major pigmentation thanks to my current skincare routine but I quite like the coverage. I have very deep dark circles and it manages to cover them up well though does not provide full coverage.

I get a decent wear time of about 5 hours which is great for everyday wear. If I do not powder my face then the staying power is much lesser. Don’t expect it to last you throughout the day but that is something we cannot expect from a BB Cream as it is. I must admit I had higher expectations from it since it costs as much as a great drugstore foundation.

Pros
1) Lightweight yet hydrating texture
2) Perfect for those with dry to normal skin
3) Sheer to buildable coverage
4) Decent Staying Power
5) Comes in 3 shades though I couldn’t find my match

Cons
1) Those with combination skin will definitely need to powder their face and might not be suitable for oily skin
2) The shade selection is tricky as 01 is too pale and 02 is too dark for fair women
3) Does not perform well under humid conditions
4) Expensive for a BB cream
