Indian Beauty Blog: Kareena Kapoor’s Lakme Illuminate & Shine Makeup Look Inspired Tutorial
Hi Everyone,
A few days back I shared the review and swatches of the new Lakme Absolute Illuminate Range which consists of new Precision Artist Eye Liners, Eyeshadow Palettes, Illuminating Lip Shimmers & Gel Stylist Nail Paints. I was inspired to create a look around Kareena Kapoor’s makeup look for Lakme’s Illuminate & Shine range that came with the media kit. Surprisingly, I was unable to find a picture of it online but I’ll update the post with the inspiration pic. The look consisted of intense brown smokey eyes with lightly contoured cheeks and shimmery glossy lips.
I tried to use the new Lakme illumination products as much as possible for creating the look. Started off with a very light base and high coverage concealer to conceal my dark under eye circles. I haven’t been sleeping very well so kindly ignore the tired eyes. Next, I set it with powder and lightly contoured my cheeks and nose. Also added a hint of bronzer to the cheeks. A deep coral blush and lots of highlighter finished up my face makeup.
Products Used
Faces Glam On Prime Perfect Foundation
Kryolan Brush On Concealer Shade 6 (orange color corrector)
Kryolan Derma Color Camouflage Creme D 65
L’Oreal Mat Magique Pressed Powder
Sleek Contour Kit
Faces Glam On Blush- Cocktail Peach
Faces Metaliglow Highlighter- Champagne
Coastal Scents SunnTones Bronzer- Medium
On to the eyes, Kareena had very intense brown smokey eyes lined with a metallic brown liner. She used a black kohl for her waterline and a hint of smudged brown kohl on the lower lashline. I used the Lakme Illuminating Eyeshadow Palette in Gold for the complete eyemakeup. Starting off with the third burnt coral color from the first row in the crease. I blended it further using the last color from the second row. Intensified the out V with black (second on the first row) which is surprisingly pigmented. Again used the burnt coral eyeshadow all over the lid. Highlighted my brow bone with the first beige color from the first row. I know it sounds a bit confusing but check the palette for reference and that might help.
I first lined my eyes with a black kohl, followed it up with the new Lakme Absolute Precision Eye Liner in Burnished Brown till the wing for a more vibrant finish. I also smudged the same eye liner under my lower lashline. Kareena was not wearing any lashes but this was the rare time I managed to put on some falsies and I much prefer the added drama of the false lashes
Products Used
Kryolan Derma Color Camouflage (as base)
Lakme Absolute Illuminating Eyeshadow Palette- Gold
Lakme Absolute Precision Artist Eye Liner- Burnished Brown
Lakme Eyeconic Kajal
Mayebelline The Colossal Mascara
Red Cherry 747 S Lashes (also worn here)
As for the lips, I used the Lakme Absolute Illuminating Lip Shimmer in Tropical Shine. This rose gold shimmery color has been quite a revelation and I never thought it would look this good. Definitely recommend you to try this out at the store as its a great color for parties. Oh and you know what? Its the exact dupe to Jeffree Starrr’s new liquid lipstick that he recently shared on Snapchat.
So this was my version of brown smokey eye makeup inspired by Kareena Kapoor. Let me know your thoughts on the same and if you’d like to see some more celebrity inspired looks.

You look gorgeous! I loved the Tropical Shine lipstick too but it kinda washes me out so have to layer it over a slightly darker shade.
