Beauty Subscription Boxes India: My Envy Box January 2015 Review!

A new year, a new month & a new Envy Box. This beauty subscription box had been quite promising in the year of 2014 barring a few misses here and there so I had great expectations from the January 2015 My Envy Box. This month’s theme was a ‘BeautyFULL January’ which claimed to contain beauty essentials to make us feel and look good 🙂

My Envy Box January contained 6 samples this month mostly from luxury & high end brands. This beauty box came in a red chirpy box with a cute yellow pouch. Remember my rant against those printed pouches in the December Box? Well Team Envy surely listened. Besides the usual samples I also got a complimentary Sebastian Fearless Blowdry which I’d be sure to avail!

Sebastian Professional Penetrairtt Shampoo: Rs 1400 for 250ml
This is a strengthening & repair shampoo with an active rescue system. It claims to penetrate the hair and guard it against stress caused by the chemicals & heat damage. I tend to heat style my hair alot so I’m excited to give this a try and really impressed with the 50ml deluxe sized sample!

I always look forward to these perfume samples in the envy boxes as they always send across floral and fruity scents which I ADORE! The Euphoria EDP has a light floral & fruity scent with a sensual musky undertone. Perfect for an evening date!

Beauty Sampling Box India: Elizabeth Arden Gold Ultra Restorative Capsules

Elizabeth Arden Gold Ultra Restorative Capsules: Rs 4490 for 60 capsules
This silky smooth serum claims to instantly infuse the skin with youth restoring ceramides for visible improvement in the the overall appearance and results in a youthful complexion. I have heard great things about these capsules but only only 2 were sent out in the boxes. umm really? Atleast provide a week’s samples to judge if we want to invest in the product!

January My Envy Box Products & Review: ZA True White Liquid Foundation

ZA True White Liquid Foundation: Rs 950 for 30ml
Not exactly sure if ZA can be termed as a “luxury brand” but I’m ready to overlook that as makeup samples always make me happy! I want to see makeup samples being made a regular feature in My Envy Box as they really do make us all happy. Not a fan of sachets but I think 2 sachets are enough to test out a foundation.

This is an anti aging treatment which claims to nourish, regenerate and tone the skin. With natural active ingredients and emollient properties, this face cream sounds quite promising especially for those with dry skin.

Babor Skin Brightening Lotion: Rs 5999 for 50ml
I received the sample in my last month’s box as well! I wasn’t too happy about the sachets either, worse the same product being repeated in the boxes where the aim is to sample out NEW PRODUCTS each month. Not good!

Overall, I felt this month’s box was a mixed bag. Glad to see a generous deluxe sized sample along with some makeup but the quantity of skincare samples has reduced so much. I used to love My Envy Boxes because they always sent out skincare samples that atleast lasted 5 days, which was good enough for you to test how well the product behaves on your skin. They never sent out teeny meeny sachet samples and thats what set them apart! Lets see how well they fare next month.
