Who doesn’t love a good, super intense, long staying kajal that does not smudge or make you look like a panda? Brands keep launching new variants when it comes to the humble kohl and I love trying out every launch. Recently, Faces launched the Ultime Pro Intense Gel Kajal which sounded very promising especially since I loved the Faces Magneteyes Kajal. Read on to know how well this performed.

Product Description
Ultime Pro Intense Gel Kajal is formulated to deliver a dramatic definition with one easy swipe & easy to apply. It brightens the eyes with a pure, seductive and vibrant line of color Dark & Intense. It has One stroke application, gel finish and is super long wear. It also comes with a smudger and has a sharpener free.
Packaging
The new Faces Gel Kajal is packaged in a black cardboard packaging with silver detailing. It is not a retractable pencil and needs to be sharpened which leads to wastage. The box is supposed to come with a sharpener however mine did not contain any. The pencil has the kajal on one end and the smudger on the other. I absolutely love the look of their Ultime Pro range and it definitely feels quite “expensive”
Texture
The Faces Ultime Pro Gel Kajal is supposed to be a gel liner in a pencil form and it is exactly that. The kajal is super smooth, one of the creamiest formulas I’ve ever used and literally glides on like butter. I was a bit surprised over the silky finish considering it is getting colder in Delhi and kajals/pencils tend to get a bit dry this time of the year. The creamy texture is probably a big reason why they could not make it into a retractable packaging. Since it is very soft and smooth, I also need to sharpen it often as I end up using more product.
Shade & Pigmentation
The Faces Intense Gel Kajal is easily the blackest kajal I’ve ever used. It gives a very beautiful glossy finish, unlike anything I’ve used before especially in a pencil form. I totally love how it looks on the eyes and is very pigmented. It can also be smudged easily and is a nifty tool for a quick smokey eyes.
Staying Power
So far I was really impressed with new Faces Ultime Pro Kajal however the wear time really let me down. The brand claims it as smudge proof and waterproof however the kajal does not set. It will remain intact as long as you remember not to rub your eyes however the slightest of touch makes it smudge like crazy. I soon ended up with panda eyes which was not a good sight.
While I don’t mind the price tag as the texture and finish is amazing but I’m someone who does rub her eyes a bit. They fact that it is not smudge proof keeps me from recommending.
HBM Rating
HBM Recommendation: I’m honestly in 2 minds over the new Faces Intense Gel Kajal. While the texture, shade and pigmentation is bang on but the fact that it smudges quite a bit turns me off. I’d probably still use it because I love the finish and will recommend checking it out if you want an intensely black kajal that can be smudged for a smokey look.

This looks similar to Colorbar n newly launched L'Oreal ones.
But I think Colorbar had the best quality.
