Kryolan has been my favorite brand when it comes to base makeup and every MUA worth her salt knows abut the brand and many swear by it. I use their Dermacolor Camouflage Creme as a concealer and the Brush On Concealer in 06 (Orange) to cover my dark circles pretty much everyday. My makeup routine is just incomplete without these products and I would like a zombi without them. I recently checked out their new Lip N Cheek Stains which is a 2 in 1 product that I shall be reviewing today.

Packaging
The Kryolan Lip N Cheek comes in a blue plastic squeezy tube with a screw on cap. It has a slanted tip for application and you can easily control the amount of product to release because of the squeezy tube. Kryolan products aren’t very attractive to look at but they are always efficient as well travel friendly & save alot of space like this 2 in 1 lip & cheek stain. The tube is further packaged in a blue cardboard box which also contains the list of ingredients.

Shade & Pigmentation
The Kryolan Lip N Cheek Stains come in a variety of shades ranging from muted dusty pinks to barbie pinks, corals and reds. Kryolan Poppy is a bright orange- red which is a very bold and in your face shade. Since the color is very pigmented, you need to be careful with the application and lightly build it up. I need the tiniest amount possible for my cheeks. It will show up beautifully on all skintones and will look great on dusky beauties if properly blended.

Texture & Finish
The Kryolan Lip N Cheek Tint has a light watery consistency. It is very lightweight and does not feel heavy as such. On the cheeks it blends easily and settles into a powder matte finish. On the lips, it glides on like a creamy slightly watery lipgloss but settles down into a proper matte finish which is definitely drying. I love the finish on the cheeks but for my lips, I need proper exfoliation and a bit of hydration with a lip balm to make it look good otherwise my lips end up looking very unhealthy. Without a lip balm it looks and feels too cakey as well as dry which I’m not fond of at all.

Staying Power
The Kryolan Lip N Cheek Poppy stays put for a really good amount of time. On the cheeks it has a staying power of 5-6 hours after which it starts fading a bit. On the lips it stays put for 3-4 hours depending on the amount you eat. Since it is a lip stain you might not feel the need for an instant touch up though it gets a little patchy after you have oily Indian snacks or food.

Overall, the Kryolan Lip N Cheek reminds me of the Benefit’s Benetint without its cons. Unlike the benetints these are much more pigmented and have a better wear time. This could be a great addition to one’s kit and this small tube would last you a long time. My only gripe is the drying finish on the lips which is a bit uncomfortable for me.

HBM Recommendation: Kryolan Lip N Cheek Stain is a 2 in 1 product which like the name suggests can be used as a blush and a lip stain. Poppy is a beautiful orange-red which is the perfect color for spring-summer and will flatter all skintones. This highly pigmented formula has a great wear time but the only issue is that it feels too drying on the lips without a lip balm or a gloss on top. Recommend it if you like using lip or cheek stains and are a fan of the famous Benetints as this is definitely a better dupe of that!
