Lakme 9 to 5 Mattifying & Hydrating Super Sunscreen Review
Lakme 9 to 5 Mattifying & Hydrating Super Sunscreen Review
Hello Lovelies,
I have been testing out the New Lakme Sunscreens for the past 2 weeks and now I’m ready to share my opinion on it. When I first heard about the launch, I loved the fact that they introduced 2 variants for dry to oily skinned beauties but the price was a tad too much. Read on to find out if they’re worth your money!

Packaging
The Lakme 9 to 5 sunscreens comes in a rose gold packaging with a metallic gold cap. The cap shuts tightly and won’t come off in your bag and lead to spillage. Both the variants ie Mattifying & Hydrating have a pump dispenser which dispenses adequate amount of product. The thing that I found a bit weird was that the Lakme 9 to 5 Mattifying Sunscreen has a thinner bottle compared to the 9 to 5 Hydrating Sunscreen though they both contain the same quantity.
Lakme 9 to 5 Hydrating Super Sunscreen Review
The sunscreen is white in color and has a light floral scent similar to their CC cream & other products. The 9 to 5 Hydrating sunscreen has a lightweight texture which is like a lotion but not runny. It blends into the skin easily and does not feel heavy or oily!
I have combination skin and I was not expecting it to keep my face shine free but it sure did! It also does not “rub off” when you apply foundation over it like the other sunscreens. The Lakme 9 to 5 Hydrating Sunscreen is perfect for dry to normal skin type.
Even though it suited my combination skin quite well and I right now prefer it over the Mattifying one but I doubt if it will hold well in the terrible Delhi summers. I have re-applied this after 3 hours like recommended and haven’t witnessed any tanning. No sunscreen can protect longer than 2-3 hours so always make sure to re- apply it.
Lakme 9 to 5 Mattifying Sunscreen Review
Like the hydrating one this too is white in color and had a floral scent which does not irritate the senses. However, the texture of the Lakme 9 to 5 Mattifying sunscreen is quite different from the hydrating one.
Its more thick and creamy and doesn’t blend as easily into the skin like the hydrating one. It does provide an instant glow to my face which might be a “whitish cast” for wheatish to dusky skintone. The suncreen performs well underneath the base as well and kept my face shine free throughout the day. Oily beauties are bound to love this for sure!
The only issue I have with these is the price. 500 bucks for 30ml is pretty expensive coming from Lakme though the quality is great and most certainly quite effective! I wish they had priced it around 300-400 bucks or increased the quantity. Barring that the Lakme 9 to 5 Super Sunscreens perform quite well!
