There is a red for every woman so it isn’t surprising that L’Oreal India started the year (with a bang might I add) with not 1, 2 but a whole range of pure red lipsticks named ‘Collection Star Reds‘ which are chosen by the 7 iconic L’Oreal Paris ambassadors. Red lipsticks are tricky business but once you find your perfect rouge, there is no looking back. Nothing feels more powerful than a red lipstick and now you get to choose from 7 gorgeous red hues by L’Oreal Paris. Today I shall be swatching and reviewing the entire range of L’Oreal Color Riche Collection Star Red Lipsticks.

The New L’Oreal Pure Red Lipsticks are 7 different tones of red lip colors chosen by the brand ambassadors including our very own Sonam Kapoor, Aishwarya Rai & Freida Pinto. These are similar to L’Oreal Moist Matte Lipsticks and come in classy black lipstick casing which is signed by the shade’s ambassador. Pretty cool, huh? Identification is an absolute breeze and I simply adore the sleek and attractive look of these beauties.

The L’Oreal Red Collection Star Lipsticks have a creamy formula, not overly so and glide on beautifully onto the lips. Though some of the shades like Pure Ice & Pure Amaranthe go on a bit patchy and need some effort for proper application. The finish is a beautiful matte which is not too drying and feels quite comfortable to wear even in the winters. I just hope these don’t melt and break like the Moist Matte Lipsticks in summers.
Like always, L’Oreal Paris delivers amazingly well on the staying power. L’Oreal Collection Star Red Lipsticks stay put for atleast 5-6 hours including meals and snacks. I can’t comment on the longevity of all the shades but I tried Pure Garnet & Pure Vermeil in the couple of days I’ve had the range and these are definitely long lasting!
Pigmentation wise, the L’Oreal Pure Reds Collection Star Lipsticks vary across the board. Some of the shades like Pure Scarleto, Pure Rouge & Pure Brick are highly pigmented while shades like Pure Fire & Pure Vermeil need a couple of swipes for good coverage. All the shades are buildable and will be a boon for those with pigmented lips! Now lets move on to the swatches <3

L’Oreal Collection Star Red Lipstick Pure Amaranthe Swatch & Review: Reminds you of paranthe, doesn’t it? 😉 Not really a red and I don’t really understand why this is included in the pure reds range but since it is a super sexy pink I’m certainly not complaining. I can totally see myself wearing this…all the time!

L’Oreal Collection Star Red Lipstick Pure Garnet Swatch & Review: This L’Oreal Lipstick by Sonam Kapoor is hands down an absolute beauty. Looks totally brown in the bullet but turns out to be a gorgeous deep wine color with a brown and red undertone. It looks alot like MAC Diva on my lips and could very well be a close dupe!

L’Oreal Collection Star Red Lipstick Pure Rouge & Review: You can’t really talk about red lipstick without comparing it to MAC Ruby Woo. This neutral toned bright stunner by Freida Pinto is definitely a close dupe of MAC Ruby Woo and will be a hot favorite!
L’Oreal Collection Star Red Lipstick Pure Brick Swatch & Review: A wearable and subtle (well as subtle as red lipstick can get!) red chosen by Aishwarya Rai. It has a brown undertone and my mom instantly took to it so I’m sure this will be a hit amongst middle aged women!
The price is definitely on the higher side and that has been the only issue with L’Oreal launches lately. However, the quality is splendid and with every other brand increasing their prices like anything, these might very well be worth it!

Gorgeous colors. One can never have too many red lipsticks! I love Pure Vermeil and Pure Scarleto. Quick question, would you recommend these or the Ravishing Red from the Inafallible range. I'm NC 42 complexioned and love bold lips.
