Haven’t I been reviewing crazy amount of lip products lately? Well thats probably because I have finally gotten around to testing them. Whenever I feel low, I start playing with my makeup and I kid you not, my mom is used to seeing me up at 2am with the full bold eye makeup and lip routine. Some people uplift their mood with food and I do it with makeup. Here’s to making healthier choices, eh? 😀 So on one of these random midnight exploring, I re discovered the L’Oreal Paris Extraordinaire Liquid Lipsticks, wow quite a mouthful, which were launched as part of the Cannes Makeup Collection. I have 3 shades from the range – Rose Symphony, Coral Encore & Plum Quartet which I shall be reviewing today.

Packaging
One thing I’ve come to expect from all new launches by L’Oreal Paris is sleek, classy and chic packaging. The L’Oreal Extraordinaire Liquid Lipsticks are no different. The product is packaged in a classy gold casing with a color coded window of sorts which eases identification. It also has a color coded bottom so you can stack them upside down as well without having to rummage through your entire stash to find a particular shade.

The new L’Oreal Paris Extraordinaire Lipglosses have a good quality doe foot sponge applicator which applies the product evenly. The pointed edge helps to line the lips cleanly as well.

Texture
L’Oreal Paris Extraordinaire Lipsticks have a super rich formula which is moisturizing yet lightweight and non sticky. It does not feel heavy at all and does nourish my lips to a good extent. It  makes my lips look fuller and more luscious. I love the glossiness and the shine it adds to the lips without looking tacky.

Pigmentation & Staying Power
L’Oreal Paris Extraordinaire Liquid Lipstick Glosses vary across the board when it comes to the color pay off. The lighter shades provide translucent to medium coverage while the darker shades have good pigmentation. Despite being termed as ‘liquid lipsticks’ they do not provide an intense pigmentation which is why these feel more like lip glosses to me than say a liquid lipstick.

The staying power of the LOreal Extraordinaire Lip Gloss is a bit average and lasts for upto 3 hours which isn’t that impressive considering the price. However, most of the shades leave behind a beautiful lip stain hence you will not feel the need for an immediate touch up. Now, moving on to the individual shades.

Probably one of my least favorite colors from the range, L’Oreal Plum Quartet is a slightly milky mauve-pink which might not suit majority of the Indian skin tones. It will look amazing on pale to light complexion however the formula is a little patchy on the lips which I’m not too fond of. It is devoid of shimmer unlike most of the shades in this range.

You know my love for corals and this slightly orangey- coral is one pretty color. It does contain fine gold shimmer which is visible on the lips however I surprisingly like how it looks. I’m the sort of person who hates shimmer in lip products so when I swatched the shade I felt I wouldn’t be too happy with it. However, this sheer- medium pigmentation lip gloss would flatter all skintones well though it might be a wee bit pale for the dusky beauties.

Saving the best for the last, L’Oreal Paris Rose Symphony is a beautiful rosy pink with very fine shimmer that isn’t so visible upon application. This color is well pigmented and would look stunning on every skintone. I have been wearing this often and I love how you can play up with the pigmentation from a sheer wash of color to good coverage depending on your makeup. Its my favorite from the L’Oreal Extraordinaire range.

I do feel the price is a bit high due to the average staying power however I am in love with the texture, the tint and the finish. If you don’t mind the price then I feel you must try out atleast one shade from the range.
