I’m back again with a Revlon Shadow Link,this time in the shade GOLD. I personally have had a great experience with these lil cuties and I love the fact that you can customize your own palette by linking the individual shades together. Packaging
The first thing that really attracted me to the Revlon ShadowLinks was the unique concept of making your own palette and the freedom of choice it provided. Its a great idea and will be extremely helpful while travelling as I hate carrying a palette for one particular shade.
The eyeshadow has a ‘slide’ of sorts on the side where you can link the other shades. You can choose and link any shade that you want and even create different styles of a ‘palette’ Ain’t that cool? 😀 The lid shuts tightly and will not open up in your bag. The Shadowlinks also link tightly and will not come off or drop!
Shade
Revlon ShadowLinks Gold is a gorgeous mid toned gold eyeshadow with a metallic finish. I love such golds as they go really well with ethnic wear and look equally good when worn all over the lid with heavily kohl-ed eyes.

Texture
The eyeshadow has a smooth and soft texture unlike Plum & Onyx. It isn’t buttery but is definitely softer and much more stain-y compared to the other shades. Gold blends easily and I did not face any fallout with it.
Pigmentation
This is where Revlon Gold disappoints! It is not highly pigmented and requires effort to build up the color. With an eyeshadow base its quite vibrant and pigmented but without a base it certainly doesn’t show up that easily in a swipe or 2.
Staying Power
It lasts upto 4-5 hours without a base after which it starts creasing.The wear time is much better compared to the other shades and for the price I think the wear time was quite good! With a primer underneath it easily lasts upto 6-7hours which is perfect if you want to wear this to a party or need to wear eye shadows for a long duration of time!

Pros
1) A gorgeous gold eye shadow which goes extremely well with ethnic wear
2) Has a soft and smooth texture and I did not experience any fallout
3) Blends easily
4) Stays put for a good amount of time
5) Comes in a huge variety of 20 shades
6) Easy on the pocket making it perfect for budget beauties and beginners
7) An amazing and unique concept of building your own palette which is very travel friendly.
Cons
1) Does not show up well without a base 🙁

HBM Recommendation: Revlon Colorstay ShadowLinks Gold is a gorgeous yellow toned gold eye shadow which will go extremely well with ethnic wear. It has a soft texture which blends easy and has a good wear time. The only issue is the pigmentation as it does not show up well without an eyeshadow base. For the price I think its a great choice for beginners and budget beauties.

Yeah for the price I think beginner's can give it a try especially since they will have tough time with highly pigmented eyeshadows!

This eyeshadow is lil too yellowish to my liking. But your EOTD is so beautiful!
ha ha you know what? When I first got it I thought it was a yellow eyeshadow with a metallic finish and I was so disappointed as I only like matte yellows. Then it turned out gold upon swatching and on the eyes it really doesn't look THAT yellow :)

WOW! just the perfect gold... Superb! And Lishhiiii love... ur FOTD makes it so very gorgeous.... U know what, when you dress up your mermaid like eyes in such wonderful hues, they attain a licence to kill. Like a man with a golden gun, you would be girl with golden eyes wearing this one. Loved the way you have blended it :) But girl, missed your FOTD here... Definitely would have loved it. BTW, what do you use on ur lower lash line? It looks awesome. Need a tute for this too...
