The Body Shop Vitamin E Skincare Range Review, Price & Buy Online India
It’s freezing cold here in Delhi and it has made my skin so dehydrated and dry. I’m not a huge winter person, it just makes me want to cuddle up in my blanket and hibernate till summers. Yes, this also means I hardly feel like applying makeup though that could be due to the fact that my skin has never looked better. It has this beautiful natural glow and I’m good to go with just a dash of mascara and lip balm. A lot of you on Snapchat have been asking me to do a post on my current skincare routine and I finally got around to it. I’ve heard so many bloggers rave about The Body Shop Vitamin E range so it was a natural choice for the colder months. Here is a detailed review on my favorite products from the range and read on to know how you too can try them out.

CTM is essential for a good and clear complexion. For cleansing, I’ve been using the TBS Vitamin E Gentle Facial Wash. It is packaged in a simple plastic tube with a flip open cap. The face wash has a cleanser like consistency and does not lather too much. It is perfect for dry to normal skintype especially in winters as it adequately cleanses the skin without removing the natural oils. I’m someone who does not feel satisfied if the face wash does not lather alot however cleansers that end up foaming too much contain SLES which further dries out the skin. The Body Shop Vitamin E Face Wash makes the skin feel clean and refreshed after usage and is very gentle. The price is slightly on the higher side but one tube will last you a good amount of time.

I have been struggling with open and enlarged pores along with blackheads for quite a few years now. Besides regular exfoliation, a toner is a must to treat enlarged pores. However, most toners in the Indian market contain alcohol which either irritates the skin or dries it out. Hence, the TBS Vitamin E Toner was the perfect choice for winters. It comes in a tall plastic bottle with a flip open cap. The consistency is runny but not as water-y as most toners. It instantly moisturizes my skin and makes it look nourished and glowing. If you have normal to combination skin then most probably you will not feel the need to follow it up with a moisturizer. It removes every trace of dirt or makeup and does not sting the skin. Being honest, I haven’t seen much of a difference in the size of my pores but it works really well at thoroughly cleaning the skin and combating dryness. Easily the best toner I’ve tried for dry skin in winters.

So on the days I’m heading out, I apply the TBS Vitamin E Moisture Protect Emulsion. It contains SPF 30 PA+++ hence it provides broad spectrum protection against both UVA & UVB rays. The Body Shop Emulsion is packaged in a slim plastic packaging with a pump dispenser. It has a lightweight consistency and the first time I tried it, I felt it won’t be able to adequately hydrate my skin on its own. Surprisingly, the texture is really great. It does not feel heavy on the skin yet moisturizes it very well, probably due to presence of hyaluronic acid and wheatgerm oil. This is a product that checks all my requirements from a perfect day cream: hydration, sun protection, good staying power. I highly recommend it for winters.

It’ll be very difficult to choose one favorite product from the TBS Vitamin E range because all of them have worked so well for my skin. However, if there is one product that I certainly can’t do without is the TBS Vitamin E Moisture Cream. Packaged in a simple pink tub, the cream has a creme-gel like consistency. It intensely hydrates the skin without looking greasy or oily. The Moisture Cream works really well under makeup and I love using it under my base. The skin feels softer and well hydrated with regular usage. It claims to provide 48 hours of moisturization and while I haven’t gone that long without washing my face but I can certainly say it keeps the skin nourished and prevents it from feeling dry and flaky throughout the day. Easily the best cream for dry skin in India.

I have a huge obsession for eye creams which is probably due to my deep dark circles. When I came across this cute little eye cube from TBS, I just had to give it a try. Unlike normal eye creams, this comes in a twist up cube form and you apply it directly under the eyes. You instantly feel a cooling sensation and the under eye area feels soothed and relaxed. I prefer thicker and more hydrating eye creams but this is very lightweight and gets absorbed almost instantly. It delivers what it claims- relaxes and soothes tired eyes and is a boon for someone who is always working on the laptop. That said, it didn’t do anything for my dark circles and since I usually apply eye creams at night, I prefer them to be a bit more hydrating.

After toning at night, I apply the TBS Vitamin E Serum in Oil every alternate day. It comes in a powder pink glass bottle with a dropper. The texture is very lightweight for an oil and I usually need about half a dropper for my face and neck. It does not feel very heavy on the skin and absorbs easily. For someone like me who has dry skin at the moment, it does not leave a greasy residue though if I keep touching my face, it feels slightly oily. I have been using this for more than a month and I can easily compare it to the Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Oil which FYI I absolutely love and costs a bomb. Just like the Kiehl’s Facial oil, the TBS Vitamin E Serum makes my skin look relaxed, softer and brighter the next morning. I have definitely noticed an improvement in the fine lines under my eyes. It contains the highest concentration of wheatgerm oil which is the best source of Vitamin E hence replenishes the skin well and adds moisture. If you love facial oils, then I highly recommend trying this out.
